If your bathroom has existing mold or mildew, ridding the room of invaders is important.
Not only are they mold and mildew germs that can destroy what they’re growing on, but they are also unsightly and can smell unpleasant. By taking a few extra precautions, you can help to avoid mold and mildew, as well as arm yourself to blast it if it ever becomes a problem in your bathroom.
A damp environment is a germ’s best friend, and your bathroom sees a lot of moisture day in, day out. For an area like this that is highly trafficked, as well as damp most days, your regular spray and clean just isn’t enough.
What to clean mold with?

Once you have got rid of your mold and mildew, you can stop it coming back by following 5 easy tips.
Your shower and curtains or doors tend to get wet and stay wet, making them magnets for mold and mildew. To keep it from forming, always store a small squeegee in the shower and try to wipe down your walls (and shower doors!) after every shower. This will stop there being so much water left there, and therefore make it less likely for mold and mildew to form.
If you have vinyl shower curtains, you should toss them in the wash regularly, providing they’re fabric and machine washable. If they’re not, clean them daily with a germ-killing product such as Lysol® Mold and Mildew Blaster instead.
The most important bathroom habit for everyone in your family to follow isn’t the never-ending seat-up, seat-down battle – it’s not leaving wet towels on the floor. This practice encourages mold to grow easily, which not only lingers in the air, but also ends up on the next person that uses the towel. Some rules for your wet towels are:
Hard surfaces are fairly easy to keep clean. Soft, porous surfaces – not so much. While a carpeted bathroom might be luxurious, it’s a veritable field day for mold and mildew. The same goes for plush bath mats and carpet runner catch-alls.
So, consider replacing any bathroom carpets with tile, laminates or linoleum for easier cleaning and germ maintenance. If you can’t bring yourself to trade your soft bath rug for a plastic or gel model, make sure it’s laundered as frequently as your towels to keep mold and mildew at a minimum.
You can also use Lysol® Disinfectant Spray to control and prevent the spread of mold and mildew, as well as its nasty odor. Simply pre-clean the surface, hold can 6” to 8” inches from surface and spray for 3 to 4 seconds until covered with mist. Let it stand for 3 minutes before allowing to air dry. Repeat applications at weekly intervals, or simply when mold and mildew growth appears.
