Special Tips for Kids' Rooms

  • Choose washable toys and stuffed animals. Wash them often to remove dust and allergens.
  • Eliminate "dust catchers" if your child has allergies or asthma. Store books and collectible toys in closets or enclosed storage bins.
  • Clean and disinfect play surfaces and plastic toys. Be sure to rinse them thoroughly after disinfection.

Clean bedding and flooring more frequently if pets spend time in your child's room. However, if your child has pet allergies or asthma, you should not allow the pet into your child's room.
