CDC's Flu Prevention Program: "Don't Get The Flu. Don't Spread The Flu. Get Vaccinated."
In conjunction with their National Influenza Vaccination Week, CDC has developed hands-on information relating to flu basics, how to prevent the flu, and information on flu vaccination. Based upon the significance of annual flu, Lysol® dedicates a section of its own web site reinforcing CDC education to consumers regarding the need for prevention through vaccination.
CDC/Lysol®’s Ounce of Prevention Program
Arming health educators and consumers with information as well as practical and useful tips on preventing infectious diseases, the Ounce of Prevention campaign was created by the National Center for Infectious Diseases, Coordinating Center for Infectious Diseases of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in partnership with Reckitt Benckiser, Inc., the makers of Lysol® Brand Products.
The campaign's goal is to provide resources about handwashing, cleaning and disinfection, and other easy-to-follow steps in an effort to develop and maintain successful hand hygiene and cleaning practices. The campaign educates a broad consumer and professional audience.
CDC/Lysol®’s Ounce of Prevention for Kids Program
The "Ounce of Prevention for Kids" companion component is designed for children ages six to nine, and features a customized website with a range of activities for kids to play on their own or with a parent or teacher. The hands-on/minds-on activities educate children about personal hygiene, nutrition, exercise and safety. *
CDC's Get Smart Program
Lysol® supports the messages of the Get Smart: Know When Antibiotics Work campaign. Antibiotics work to cure bacterial infections but not viruses, and Lysol® strives to give consumers the knowledge they need to fight viruses like cold and flu through frequent and thorough handwashing, surface disinfection, and using the steps of CDC's Cover Your Cough prevention campaign.
