Children are our future, and it's important that they learn the tools to live healthy, happy lives. The LYSOL Mission for Health starts in our homes and extends to our communities. That is why Lysol created the 2011-2012, $75,000 School Attendance Program. Our schools program is developed with materials to motivate students to strive for better health habits and improve attendance.
We created the Blue Ribbon School Attendance Program for elementary schools. The program's Healthy Habits Curriculum was developed in conjunction with pediatrician and mom, Dr. Laura Jana, MD., F.A.A.P. and includes 9 Healthy Habit Lessons for grades K–5 that can help reduce absenteeism and reinforce healthy habits at school and at home.
To reward schools with the best attendance rate, LYSOL is hosting a Blue Ribbon Attendance Contest for $25,000 in total prizes throughout the month of November. All schools are able to participate in this exciting contest!
To help motivate and inspire families nationwide to adopt healthier habits at home and help reduce absenteeism at school, school leaders are invited to go online and enter their school in the Blue Ribbon School Attendance Challenge. The custom online hub provides administrators, PTA and PTO members, teachers, and parents with the information and materials they need to participate and compete for a chance to win thousands of dollars for their school. Administrators register their school and work with teachers and PTA leaders to:
A fun and engaging activity to keep students and teachers thinking about healthy habits. Teachers and students are invited to create a special hand washing song and submit their entry online for a chance to win thousands of dollars in prizes for their school. The custom site scholastic.com/healthyhands provides convenient contest entry and will also feature a library of submitted songs. LYSOL Hand Washing Song Contest and the LYSOL Healthy Heroes Contest.
Who do you admire for promoting good health? Who inspires you to practice healthy habits? This contest will invite students to nominate their Healthy Hero for their chance to win cash prizes for their school. Together, teachers and students discuss what makes a healthy hero and then submit drawings or essays about their Healthy Hero online. The classroom with the winning submission gets a library of books while their school receives a cash award. Plus, Lysol will donate books to the organization of the winning Healthy Hero's choice.
